Freetown, 30th July, 2026 – The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has announced that applications for Police Clearance Certificates will now be processed entirely online through the government’s WanGov digital platform.
The move marks a significant step in Sierra Leone’s ongoing drive to digitize public services, aimed at improving efficiency, accessibility, transparency, and convenience for citizens.
With the new system, applicants can complete and submit their requests from any location with internet access by visiting the WanGov portal at www.wan.gov.sl. This eliminates the need to physically visit the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters, streamlining the process and reducing delays.
To ensure inclusivity, the SLP has also established support centres where trained WanGov Partnership Associates will assist individuals who lack internet access or require help navigating the online system.
The Police emphasized that the initiative reflects their commitment to delivering citizen-centred services through modern technology. Members of the public are encouraged to take advantage of the WanGov platform for a faster, more secure, and more convenient application process.
