Freetown, 19th June, 2026 – The Sierra Leone Bar Association (SLBA) has announced that its deferred Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on Friday, July 31, and Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Freetown International Conference Centre, Aberdeen. Proceedings will begin at 10:00 a.m. on both days.
Themed “Trade, Finance & Law: The Legal Profession’s Role in Facilitating Global Economic Integration,” the AGM is expected to draw wide participation from members of the legal fraternity, policymakers, and stakeholders in Sierra Leone’s justice sector.
The SLBA emphasized that only members who have paid their conference and annual subscription fees by May 29, 2026 will be granted access to the conference centre, and will be eligible to vote or stand for election.
The AGM comes at a pivotal moment for Sierra Leone’s legal profession, as the theme underscores the growing role of lawyers in shaping frameworks for trade, finance, and global economic integration. With elections on the agenda, the meeting is also expected to usher in new leadership within the Bar Association.
