Freetown, 2nd November 2026 – The Parliamentary Committee on Education has summoned the Minister of Basic and Secondary School Education (MBSSE), Conrad Sackey to provide answers for the massive failure in English Language and the staggering number of withheld results in the just-released 2026 WASSCE.
The committee is expected to seat on Thursday 5th November where the Minister and WAEC officials are expected to be present.
Committee on Education Chair, Hon. Rebecca Yei Kamara has urged colleague Members of Parliament to exercise patience until Sackey sits before the committee.
The summon came amid public outcry caused by a massive failure in English Language and the over 47,000 results withheld due to suspected malpractice.
