Freetown, 24th August 2026 Orange Sierra Leone and its subsidiary Orange Money SL have joined forces with government institutions, regulators, and industry stakeholders to validate Sierra Leone’s first National Roadmap to Combat Mobile and Digital Fraud, a landmark initiative aimed at safeguarding the country’s fast‑growing digital financial ecosystem.

The two‑day consultative workshop, held from 18–19 August 2026, was led by the Honourable Minister of Communication, Technology and Innovation, Salima Monorma Bah, in collaboration with the National Communications Authority (NatCA), Financial Intelligence Agency (FIA), Bank of Sierra Leone, Parliamentary ICT Committee, and other key partners.

Participants reaffirmed their collective commitment to protecting consumers and strengthening trust in mobile money and digital services. Discussions focused on fraud prevention, SIM registration, Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance, reporting mechanisms, and public awareness campaigns.

Orange Sierra Leone’s Head of Fraud and Revenue Assurance, Tamba Musa, showcased the company’s real‑time fraud detection systems and highlighted ongoing nationwide scam prevention initiatives. He emphasized that consumer protection remains central to Orange’s operations, citing the recent launch of the Scam Alert Tool as part of its anti‑fraud arsenal.

The workshop concluded with the formal validation of the National Roadmap, marking a significant milestone in Sierra Leone’s efforts to build a secure, resilient, and trusted digital financial sector.

Orange Sierra Leone reaffirmed its commitment to complementing government efforts, pledging continued collaboration with regulators and industry partners to ensure that mobile money services remain safe, reliable, and accessible to all Sierra Leoneans.
