Port Loko/Kambia, 13th April, 2026– In a show of charity and political solidarity, former students of Dr. Ibrahim Bangura (DIB) have donated 800 bags of rice and cash support to communities in Port Loko and Kambia during the holy month of Ramadan.

The group, made up of young professionals and alumni of Dr. Bangura, distributed 300 bags in Port Loko and 500 in Kambia, alongside monetary contributions. Organizers said the gesture was both a humanitarian effort and a demonstration of loyalty to their former lecturer, who is now a flagbearer candidate.

Student leader Bintu described the donation as “a token of love and dedication to a leader who embodies compassion.” Another member, Abdul Hakim, added: “Politics without generosity is nothing short of naked ambition. We want to elevate the principles of love while advancing our political goals.”

The students conveyed Dr. Bangura’s best wishes to the recipients, reaffirming his commitment to tackling food poverty nationwide.

National Coordinator Alimammy Gbla, who graduated from Fourah Bay College in 2015, explained that the group, now numbering over 800 members worldwide, has consistently organized activities in support of Dr. Bangura’s campaign.

“During Ramadan, we thought it fit to continue in the same direction. We brought rice and sunakati to the people of Port Loko and Kambia as part of our support,” he said.

Community members warmly received the donations, expressing gratitude for the kindness shown during the fasting period. Many described the gesture as timely, easing the burden of food insecurity during Ramadan.
