Freetown, 22nd September, 2026 — President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, has participated in an online meeting of the FIFA Commercial and Marketing Committee, underscoring Sierra Leone’s growing role in global football governance.

Kamara, who was appointed to the Committee in October 2025, just two months after assuming office as SLFA President, joined colleagues in reviewing strategies to boost revenue generation and strengthen commercial partnerships across national football associations.

The meeting focused on innovative ways federations can expand their financial base to support football development. President Kamara highlighted several projects already underway in Sierra Leone aimed at creating new income streams for the SLFA. He also emphasized the benefits of FIFA Connect, noting its role in modernizing the Association’s operations through fixture generation and the digitalisation of player registration.

By contributing Sierra Leone’s perspective to the Committee’s deliberations, Kamara reinforced the SLFA’s commitment to aligning with FIFA’s global vision of sustainable football growth. His participation reflects the Association’s ambition to leverage international platforms for the advancement of the game at home.
