Freetown, 18th May 2026 -Orange Sierra Leone has reaffirmed its commitment to corporate social responsibility with a financial donation to the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC), following the recent fire incident at the national broadcaster. The support is also aimed at bolstering media development and strengthening national broadcasting capacity.

The donation was formally presented by Orange Sierra Leone’s Chief Marketing Officer, Abdramane Koné, and General Secretary, Danetta Younge, to SLBC Director General Josephine Kamara and Deputy Director General Mohamed Asmieu Bah during a brief ceremony at SLBC headquarters.

Also present was Alhaji Dauda Bangura, CEO of OWL Newspaper, who joined the Orange Sierra Leone team in underscoring the importance of public‑private partnerships in advancing national development.

Orange Sierra Leone described SLBC as a strategic partner in promoting information sharing, public awareness, and national development, noting that the broadcaster plays a vital role in connecting communities across the country.

The donation reflects Orange Sierra Leone’s broader CSR agenda, which focuses on education, health, digital inclusion, and media support. By assisting SLBC in the aftermath of the fire, the company reinforced its role as a partner in strengthening Sierra Leone’s communication infrastructure and ensuring continuity in national broadcasting.
