Freetown, 14th February, 2026 Orange Sierra Leone has teamed up with PlantMamaSL to host the inaugural Salone Garden Expo, a two‑day showcase of sustainability, environmental awareness, and climate action at the Radisson Blu Mammy Yoko Hotel.

The Expo, held from February 13–14, marks Sierra Leone’s first national platform dedicated to green innovation and community-driven environmental stewardship. Founded by Alita Ansu Katta, CEO of PlantMamaSL, the initiative has grown into a nationwide movement uniting government, private sector, and grassroots communities around the urgent need for climate resilience.

In his keynote address, Jiwoh Abdulai emphasized the importance of collective action to protect Sierra Leone’s environment, while Orange Sierra Leone CEO Aïcha Touré reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sustainability.

“Preserving the environment is a shared responsibility, and Orange Sierra Leone is proud to partner in this effort,” Touré said.

The Expo featured hundreds of plants on display, interactive sessions on sustainable living, and the distribution of free trees to encourage long‑term environmental stewardship. Organizers described the event as a milestone in embedding climate action into everyday life, while also showcasing the role of corporate partnerships in advancing national sustainability goals.

With its blend of advocacy, education, and community engagement, the Salone Garden Expo sets the stage for Sierra Leone to strengthen its green footprint and inspire citizens to take ownership of environmental protection.
