Freetown, 4th August, 2026 – Following the appointments made by President Julius Maada Bio, parliament has approved the new Director General of the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT), Chrenor Mahmoud Jalloh and six others into different offices.

Jalloh, being a chartered accountant with decades of experience in the corporate sector, will lead NASSIT at a time when most of its investments struggle, leading to allegations of delay in payment of pensions.

Mohamed ‘Orman’ Bangura, former Minister of Youth Affairs, will deputise Jalloh.

The six others who had been approved include Isata Marah, Deputy Minister of Finance 2, Isata Jabbati – Chairman Board of Trustees NASSIT; Dr Isata Kamanda – Deputy Minister of Agriculture 1; Ing Bryant Smart Kanu – Deputy Minister of Agriculture 2; Amid Chrenor Jalloh – Chairman Board of Trustees Conservation Trust Fund and Alusine Kamara – member Professional Social Work Regulatory Committee.
