The Citizens Advocacy Network (CAN) has formally notified the Sierra Leone Police of its intention to stage a peaceful protest and procession on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, in Freetown. The demonstration, according to CAN, is aimed at expressing public disapproval of what the organization describes as Parliament’s violation of constitutional provisions in the ongoing amendment of the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone.
