A Fresh debate has emerged at the University of Sierra Leone following the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) ‘s May 8 report in relation to allegations of procurement breaches at USL’s Business Centre, which it cited were “unsupported”, and found no financial misconduct by the Finance Director, but flagged governance lapses and ministerial interference. However, the University has hit back with clarifications and has demanded an apology from the Commission.

The Civil Rights Coalition (CRC) has called on Sierra Leone’s Minister of Technical and Higher Education to step aside following damning findings by the Anti‑Corruption Commission (ACC) into governance practices at the University of Sierra Leone (USL).

“Pre-eclampsia is a high blood pressure disorder that typically develops after 20 weeks into pregnancy. It can present serious risks to both mother and baby. Early detection and management are crucial to prevent progression to eclampsia, which involves seizures. Both conditions can be life-threatening,” according to WHO.

The National Council for Civic Education and Democracy (NaCCED), in partnership with the Open Government Steering Committee (OGSC), has celebrated the Open Government Week round table expert panel discussion under the theme: “Global Call to Transform the Way Government Serves the Citizens.”

Sierra Leone’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Timothy Musa Kabba, has called on American companies to deepen their partnerships with Sierra Leone, moving beyond raw extraction into beneficiation, processing, and downstream industries that create jobs and build local capacity.
