Freetown, 21st October 2015-The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed indictments against two employees of the Koidu Government Hospital for allegedly misappropriating medical supplies intended for Sierra Leone’s Free Health Care Programme.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, 21st October 2025, the ACC confirmed that it has formally charged Christian Benjamin Karjue, Head Store Keeper at the hospital, and Ibrahim Janneh, a Cleaner, at the High Court of Sierra Leone sitting in Kono.

The two men face one count each of Conspiracy to Commit a Corruption Offence under Section 128(1), and Misappropriation of Public Property under Section 36(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 12 of 2008, as amended in 2019.

According to the Commission, between April 10 and 18, 2025, Karjue and Janneh—alongside other unidentified individuals—allegedly conspired to unlawfully divert thirteen cartons of assorted medical supplies designated for the Free Health Care Programme at the Koidu Government Hospital.

The ACC described the charges as part of its ongoing efforts to safeguard public resources and ensure accountability within the health sector.

“The Commission wishes to reassure the general public of its unwavering commitment to protecting public resources at all times,” the statement read.

The case is expected to proceed in the coming weeks as part of the ACC’s broader crackdown on corruption in public service delivery.
