Accra, Ghana, 14th September 2026 – The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested three men believed to be operatives of Dutch fugitive Jos Leijdekkers, widely known as “Bolle Jos.”
The arrests, announced over the weekend, follow intelligence linking the suspects to a cocaine shipment recently intercepted by French customs. NACOC officials say the three men were allegedly representing and facilitating the activities of Leijdekkers’ network in Ghana.
The suspects are currently in NACOC custody, assisting investigators as authorities probe their alleged roles in the transnational trafficking operation.
NACOC stressed that the arrests underscore Ghana’s determination not to serve as a safe haven, transit point, or operational base for international drug cartels. The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to working with both domestic and international law-enforcement partners to dismantle the people, finances, and infrastructure sustaining the illicit drug trade.
Officials added that while Ghana remains firm in its anti-narcotics stance, all suspects will be accorded their legal rights and protections as investigations continue.
