Freetown, 12th August, 2026 – The National Revenue Authority (NRA) has extended heartfelt appreciation to Mrs. Jeneba J. Bangura for her transformative leadership as Commissioner General, as she transitions to a new national role.
During her tenure, Bangura spearheaded reforms that strengthened tax administration, improved taxpayer engagement, and advanced digital transformation across the Authority. Her leadership was credited with boosting domestic revenue mobilisation, a cornerstone of Sierra Leone’s drive for sustainable national development.
In recognition of her service, the NRA described her stewardship as “dedicated and transformative,” noting that she leaves behind a stronger institution better equipped to meet the country’s fiscal challenges.
Bangura has now been appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, a role in which she is expected to bring her experience in governance and reform to Sierra Leone’s international engagements.
The NRA family celebrated her contributions and wished her success in this new chapter of public service. “Thank you for your service to the NRA and to Sierra Leone,” the Authority said in its statement.
Her departure marks both an end and a new beginning, closing a chapter of reform at the NRA while opening another in Sierra Leone’s foreign policy leadership.
