Freetown, 10th July 2026- The Executive Director of the National Investment Board (NIB) of Sierra Leone, Dr. Hinga Sandy has been resoundingly re-elected President of the ECOWAS Trade Promotion Organisation (TPO) Network for the 2026–2027 term. His election took place during the Network’s 6th Annual General Assembly held in Dakar, Senegal from July 6 to 9, 2026.
Dr. Sandy’s re-election is attributed to the huge achievements delivered by his leadership during his first term in office. His tenure is expected to focus on boosting regional value chains, improving economic competitiveness, and lowering cross-border trade barriers across West Africa.
His re-election signals a historic milestone for Sierra Leone as the country takes the lead as a key driver in shaping regional trade policy and unlocking new partnerships and capacity-building opportunities.
The ECOWAS Trade Promotion Organizations (TPO) Network is a public-sector-led alliance partnering with the ECOWAS Commission to drive inclusive trade development. Supported by the International Trade Centre, it unites the export and trade promotion agencies of all 15 member states to boost intra-regional competitiveness.
