Freetown, 18th June, 2026– Sierra Leone’s Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, is set to deliver the keynote address at the 4th Annual Sierra Leone Diaspora Investment Conference, opening tomorrow, June 19, in London.
His speech is expected to make a strong case for deeper collaboration between Sierra Leone and its global diaspora, highlighting the role of diaspora investment in driving economic growth and national development.
The two‑day conference, organised by Make Sierra Leone Famous, runs from June 19–20 and is supported by the British High Commission, the National Investment Board (NIB), VPC PFMKTC, and corporate sponsors including TAF Africa Global, PCS Pee Cee Holding Ltd, and the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank. Organisers say the event will serve as a platform for investment, networking, and policy dialogue, bringing together government officials, investors, and diaspora leaders.
Dr. Jalloh’s participation comes at a time when Sierra Leone has recorded notable progress in its reform agenda. He has been instrumental in advancing transparency through the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), strengthening governance, and promoting fiscal discipline. His leadership of the Accountability Group, which unites the Auditor General, the Anti‑Corruption Commission, and the Financial Secretary, has reinforced institutional performance and investor confidence.
Earlier this year, Dr. Jalloh addressed the World Bank Fragility Forum, where he underscored the importance of resilient institutions in achieving sustainable development. His keynote in London is expected to build on that message, positioning Sierra Leone’s diaspora as a vital partner in strengthening health, education, infrastructure, and investment opportunities.
The conference is anticipated to generate fresh momentum for diaspora engagement, with the Vice President’s address likely to set the tone for discussions on how Sierra Leone can harness its global talent and resources to accelerate growth.
