Freetown, 4th February, 2026 – Dr. Allieu Mohamed Bah, Associate Professor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Njala Campus, has strongly contested a University Court Committee report recommending that his position be declared vacant and applications opened for a replacement.

The report, compiled by the University Court Committee for Renewal and Appointment of Deputy Vice-Chancellors, alleged that Dr. Bah’s first three-year term was marked by strained relationships with senior colleagues, unfair distribution of financial resources, failure to provide financial returns to the Vice-Chancellor and Principal, and rising insecurity on campus.

Dr. Bah dismissed the findings as baseless. “These allegations are trumped up, full of lies and incorrect,” he told Truth Media, insisting that financial allocations are managed by the Vice-Chancellor and Principal, with deans overseeing departmental spending. “Money comes through the campus and the various deans know how much is received and how it is used,” he explained.

He further alleged that his efforts to introduce reforms had unsettled the administration. Among these, he cited tackling fraudulent Government Grant-In-Aid claims and addressing questionable room allocations. According to him, the Vice-Chancellor and Principal view his progress as sabotage.

The University Court Committee, chaired by Hon. Jonathan Dambo and including members P.C. Bai Kompa Bomboli III, Dr. Regina B. Fofanah, Dr. Josephus J. Brima, and Secretary Mr. Aiah James Sandy, based its conclusions on appraisal documents and a face-to-face interview with Dr. Bah.

Dr. Bah says he will formally hand over by Friday and issue a detailed response to the allegations.
