Freetown, 19th January 2026- The Sierra Leone Economic Diversification Project (SLEDP) has released its 2025 Mid-Year Update, showcasing significant strides in entrepreneurship, sustainability, and tourism as part of the country’s ongoing economic transformation.

The report highlights how innovative ideas are being translated into industries, with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) playing a central role in driving growth. According to SLEDP, the initiative continues to empower entrepreneurs, foster cross-border learning, and advance Sierra Leone’s circular economy agenda.

Among the standout enterprises featured are Tivamya Limited, Muvah Produce, Fashion One, Mobonde Restaurant, Sanctuary Farms, and Ankara by Dex, which represent the new wave of Sierra Leonean businesses reshaping the national economy. Youth-focused initiatives such as AIDE-SL and IPAM are also turning innovation into enterprise powerhouses, creating opportunities for young people to lead in business development.

Sustainability remains a key theme, with the Go Circular 2025 campaign igniting a national movement for green innovation. Tourism rebranding campaigns are also connecting Sierra Leone to global travelers, positioning the country as a competitive destination in West Africa.

The update further notes the importance of regional collaboration, with cross-border learning missions linking Ghana, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone to share entrepreneurial experiences and strengthen partnerships.

International recognition has also been underscored, as World Bank leadership visits validated progress made in infrastructure development and impact delivery under the project.

From the beaches of Bureh to the hills of Leicester Peak and the innovation labs of Freetown, the SLEDP Mid-Year Update paints a picture of courage, creativity, and catalytic growth, reinforcing Sierra Leone’s commitment to building a diversified and resilient economy.
