Tonkolili, Mile 91, 13th November 2025– In a chilling ruling delivered by His Worship Harold Kamara at the Magistrate Court in Mile 91, Ibrahim Abdalaha Conteh, once known as a humble villager, now stands accused of one of the most brutal murders in recent memory.

It was alleged that on the 13th of September 2025, Conteh invited the late Pa Amodu Gbla to assist him in scaring birds from his farm. However, Pa Amodu never returned home. His daughter, Aminata Gbla, later raised the alarm, leading a search party to Conteh’s farm, where a decomposing body, later identified as her father’s, was unearthed beneath the soil.

According to court documents, one witness, identified as PW3, recounted in his written statement how Conteh allegedly “struck the deceased on the neck with a cutlass, tied him, and buried him” a statement that left the courtroom silent. Moreover, other witnesses confirmed seeing the accused obstructing the search and subsequently fleeing the scene.

In his ruling, Magistrate Kamara observed that “the evidence, taken as a whole, discloses sufficient grounds that a crime of murder has been committed and that the defendant may be responsible.” He therefore committed Ibrahim Abdalaha Conteh to the High Court for trial, citing that a prima facie case had been firmly established.

The accused, unrepresented in court, was ordered to remain in custody at the Moyamba Correctional Center pending High Court proceedings. The grim discovery, coupled with Conteh’s alleged flight, has left the village of Kumrabai Matuku both terrified and mournful. As justice slowly grinds forward, many now look to the High Court to bring closure to a community haunted by the echoes of that fatal day on the farm.
