Freetown, September 26th 2025- Vice President Dr. Mohammed Juldeh Jalloh has stepped in to address growing concerns over a parcel of state land in Kissy, following community outcry surrounding its proposed commercial use.

The land, situated near a school and a mosque among other public utilities, had become the subject of public debate after plans emerged for its development by a private entity. Recognizing the sensitivities around the location, Dr. Jalloh engaged stakeholders and community leaders to chart a path forward that respects both public interest and institutional integrity.

Speaking during a recent visit, the Vice President assured residents that the government remains committed to protecting community spaces and ensuring that land use decisions reflect the needs of the people. “We are working to ensure that this matter is resolved amicably and transparently,” he said.

Dr. Jalloh also pledged to review the land’s documentation and reinforce safeguards to prevent future disputes. His intervention has been welcomed by local leaders, who praised the government’s responsiveness and willingness to engage constructively.

The Kissy land issue highlights the importance of inclusive governance and community consultation in managing public assets. As efforts continue to resolve the impasse, the Vice President’s involvement signals a proactive approach to land administration and public accountability.
