Monrovia, 10th April 2026 — Officers of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) have arrested two Sierra Leonean nationals after discovering drugs concealed in their underwear during a routine search at the Tienii Check Point in Grand Cape Mount County.
The suspects, Aminata Bah, 33, and Isata B. Koroma, 32, both residents of Belliar Park in Freetown, were intercepted on Thursday, April 9, at around 1:30 p.m. A body search revealed 281 strips of Tapentadol (Tramadol) and a plastic bag containing 47.4 grams of marijuana, hidden in their bras and bikinis.
Authorities estimate the street value of the seized substances at LRD 711,500 (USD 3,952.77). The women are currently in custody and will face formal charges under Liberia’s drug laws.
The LDEA emphasized its commitment to tackling transnational drug trafficking and urged the public to support its efforts by reporting suspicious activities through its hotlines.
