Doha, Qatar – 15 October 2025 Sierra Leone’s Minister of Employment, Labour and Social Security, Mohamed Rahman Swaray, has held high-level bilateral meetings with the Director General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Minister of Labour of the Sultanate of Oman. The engagements took place ahead of the 6th Session of the Islamic Conference of Labour Ministers in Doha.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, advancing labour agreements, and exploring investment and employment opportunities for Sierra Leoneans abroad. Central to the talks were five key transformative initiatives championed by Minister Swaray, with a strong emphasis on job creation and securing decent work opportunities overseas.
According to the Ministry, the meetings were productive and received positive feedback from both counterparts, signaling a shared commitment to sustainable labour partnerships and mutually beneficial employment programmes.
The engagements mark a strategic step in Sierra Leone’s efforts to expand its international labour diplomacy and create pathways for economic empowerment through global cooperation.
