Freetown, 10th November 2025- The Chairman of the Presidential Taskforce on Hajj, Sierra Leone, Alhaji Murtada Sesay, has signed the Hajj 2026/1447 Agreement on behalf of the Government of Sierra Leone with the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdulfattah bin Suleiman Mashat, who signed on behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The agreement aims to guide the process of the implementation of a successful Hajj next year.
During the signing ceremony in Jeddah, His Excellency Abdulfattah Mashat congratulated the Chairman and his team for their commendable efforts and progress in preparing for the forthcoming Hajj 2026 season, assuring them of Saudi Arabia’s support for a successful Hajj. Dr. Badr Muhammad Al Solami, former Director-General of Hajj Affairs offices and now Adviser to the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, commended Sierra Leone and assured that they will work hard in supporting Sierra Leone to be amongst the top countries.
The agreement focuses on all Hajj 2026 arrangements, fostering partnerships, improving services, and integrating technology during the Hajj season. Attendees included Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Mohammed Barrie, Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, Alhaji Mohamed Haji-Kella, and the Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Taskforce on Hajj, Ambassador Dr. Ibrahim Jalloh.
