Freetown, 14 October 2025 — One of the legal representatives for Natasha Beckley, Abdul Karim Kamara Esq, has confirmed that his client is currently providing a voluntary caution statement to the Sierra Leone Police as part of an ongoing investigation.
Speaking in an exclusive engagement with Truth Media, Mr. Kamara stated:
“Our client is presently making her voluntary caution statement to the police, and until then, we are patiently waiting on the next step as the interview is ongoing.”
Mr. Kamara, who was present during the process, emphasized that the matter remains under active investigation. “It’s ongoing. The investigation is ongoing, and I was part of the process. There is no development to communicate to the public so far. They are taking a statement, and that’s the procedure,” he explained.
When asked whether Ms. Beckley might be held overnight at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Mr. Kamara declined to speculate.
“I cannot confirm that. Only the police can confirm whether she will be detained. After the statement is taken and the allegations are put to our client, we will then determine our next steps,” he said.
At the time of reporting, no formal charges had been announced, and the nature of the allegations remains undisclosed. Giving a voluntary caution statement is a standard procedure under Sierra Leonean criminal law, allowing a suspect to respond to allegations in the presence of legal counsel without compulsion.
Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
