The Independent Police Complaints Board (IPCB) has opened a formal investigation into an alleged shooting incident at Kroo Town Road and Bay Community in Freetown that left three people dead and several others injured.

The incident, which circulated widely on social media on September 13, has raised public concern and prompted swift action from the oversight body. In a statement, the IPCB confirmed that the probe is being conducted under the Independent Police Complaints Board Regulations, 2013, which mandate investigations into cases where police officers discharge firearms resulting in death or injury.

“The Constitution may be changed, but it must be changed constitutionally,” Conteh stressed

The Office of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice has confirmed that it is actively preparing the State’s response to three separate legal challenges filed against the recently passed Constitutional Amendment Bill.

In a public notice, the Court confirmed that it will hear the matters “expeditiously” to ensure timely resolution in line with the laws of Sierra Leone. The announcement comes amid heightened national debate over the proposed amendment, which has already drawn petitions and sparked calls for judicial clarity.
