Freetown, 2nd February 2026- Africell Sierra Leone has reaffirmed its commitment to rewarding customers and giving back to communities across the country as it presented prizes to winners of its latest ‘Win Kopo’ campaign.

Speaking at a ceremony, Kamanda Koroma, the Marketing and Digital Manager of Africell SL described the promotion as one of the longest-running and most impactful in the telecommunications sector, noting that it has been ongoing for several years and continues to change lives. “Every year, every month, and every week, people win both large and small amounts of money.

These promotions are not occasional events; they are continuous. Our goal is to ensure that customers benefit consistently,” Kamanda said. He added that despite the company’s size compared to global telecom giants, Africell remains focused on loyalty, service delivery, and maintaining long-term relationships with its customers.

Alhaji Brima Bah the Merchandising Supervisor at Africell SL said “we appreciate everyone who continues to support AfriCell. Since 2021, thousands of Sierra Leoneans have benefited from our promotions, with many receiving life-changing amounts of money,” he said. Bah announced the presentation of prizes to several grand winners, including  Ibrahim B. Sesay who lives at Mountain Cut and he won Le 250,000, John Thoronka from Magburaka who also won Le 250,000; and Mr. Samba Bockarie who is coming from the Northern part of the country who won Le 25,000 and Dennis Sesay who lives in Bo and he also won Le 25,000.

According to Bah, community empowerment is central to the company’s operations.

“Giving back is part of Africell’s DNA”.  Our promotions are designed not only to reward loyalty but to support families and improve livelihoods across the country,” he stated.

He further noted that Africell marked its 25th anniversary in Africa and 20 years of operations in Sierra Leone last year, celebrating customers from diverse communities nationwide.

Ibrahim B. Sesay who won 250,000 said he had always thought that the Africell promotions are staged and that members of the public will never benefit from the said promotions. Sesay said, when he mentioned that he had received a call from Africell informing him that he has won Le 250,000 his wife and children mentioned that he has been scammed.

Sesay stated, that his wife and children never believed the information even when he tried convincing them. Sesay said the questions he answered during the ‘Win Kopo’ promotion took him back to his primary school days and he really learnt a lot during the question and answer sessions. “When I don’t have airtime on my phone I usually feel disturbed and my wife often joke about it, but I usually find ways to get airtime”,  Sesay said. He said winning this money from Africell has changed his thoughts regarding Africell’s promotions as he said he now believes that the said promotions are transparent and fair.

Africell management assured customers that more promotions and opportunities to win prizes will be rolled out in the coming months as part of its continued effort to support and uplift Sierra Leoneans.
