As a way of strengthen collaboration and fostering professional synergy within Sierra Leone’s media landscape, the Managing Director and Co-Founder of Truth Media Sierra Leone, Amadu Lamrana Bah, has embarked on a series of courtesy visits to leading institutions in the country’s media ecosystem.
The engagements included high-level meetings with the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ), the Media Reform Coordinating Group (MRCG), the Independent Media Commission (IMC), and the Sierra Leone Reporters Union (SLRU). According to Bah, the visits are part of Truth Media’s commitment to building a congenial and accountable working relationship with regulatory and advocacy bodies in the sector.
At the Independent Media Commission, Chairman Joseph Egbenda Kapuwa commended Truth Media for its early strides in professional journalism and encouraged the team to maintain its standards.
“The Commission is not just here to receive complaints, we’re here to guide,” Kapuwa said. “If you have an idea but are unsure about the legal boundaries, reach out. We will figure it out together.”
He emphasized the importance of proactive engagement and urged Truth Media to uphold the highest level of professionalism.
At the Media Reform Coordinating Group (MRCG), National Coordinator Dr. Francis Sowa welcomed Bah and praised the bold investment in independent media. He expressed optimism about the future of journalism in Sierra Leone, noting that many talented professionals have left the field in search of more lucrative opportunities.

“It’s refreshing to see bright minds like yours still committed to media development,” Dr. Sowa said, pledging support for Truth Media’s vision and future partnerships.
During his visit to SLAJ headquarters, Bah met with President Alhaji Manika Kamara, who lauded the initiative and expressed pride in seeing a fellow SLAJ member spearheading such a transformative platform.

“As SLAJ President, I’m proud to support this venture,” Kamara said. “It’s a testament to what committed professionals can achieve.”
On her part President of the Sierra Leone Reporters Union Yeanor Kabbia welcomed her predecessor warmly and commended him for creating employment opportunities for union members. She pledged to continue dialogue on reporters’ welfare and promised a return visit to Truth Media.
“I’m grateful for the jobs you’ve created for our members,” Kabbia said. “If you can do more, we’ll be grateful.”

Bah, a former president of the Union, encouraged her to keep the membership united and acknowledged the challenges of leadership in the media space.
The courtesy tour also included an unannounced stop at Liberty Online TV, where Bah and Managing Partner, Kadija Bangura, held productive discussions. The courtesy visits will continue, with plans to engage additional media and non-media stakeholders as part of its broader outreach strategy.
