CONAKRY, Guinea 10th September 2026: Sierra Leone’s Vice President Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has disclosed that Sierra Leone and Guinea have agreed to establish follow-up and technical mechanisms to address migration and integration concerns, while advancing implementation of the Tripartite Border Security Communiqué signed by the Presidents of Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia on 26 March 2026.
Dr Juldeh Jalloh made the disclosure in Conakry while updating the Sierra Leonean community at the Embassy on the outcome of his high-level engagement, during which he was hosted by Guinea’s Prime Minister and Head of Government, Amadou Oury Bah. He said the agreed mechanisms would provide a structured platform to address challenges affecting Sierra Leoneans living in Guinea, strengthen border security cooperation and ensure that commitments reached by the three countries are followed through.
He also encouraged Sierra Leoneans to register with the Embassy and obtain consular identification cards, while urging them to respect Guinean laws and regulations.
The Vice President said the visit also reinforced discussions on trade and economic cooperation between Sierra Leone and Guinea, with both sides looking toward greater collaboration to facilitate commerce, investment and industrialisation. He said stronger institutional engagement would help address practical issues affecting businesses and citizens while deepening relations between the two neighbouring countries.
The Vice President travelled with Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, Minister of Internal Affairs, Morie Lengor Esq., Minister of Labour and Social Security, Umaru Napoleon Koroma Esq, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Madam Jeneba Bangura.
The engagement with Sierra Leoneans from all walks of life and groups was organized by Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Guinea, Foday Yumkella, and Deputy Ambassador, Madam Fatmata Sawaneh.
