Kenema, 6th August 2026- In a show of regional cooperation, the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) Eastern Region on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, officially handed over murder suspect Augustine Tamba Lendeh, alias “T-Boy”, to Liberian authorities.
Lendeh was arrested in Kenema on Monday, August 3, after intelligence linked him to the killing of his 19‑year‑old girlfriend, Dearest Paye, in Monrovia. Preliminary investigations suggest the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute before the suspect fled across the border in an attempt to evade arrest.
The transfer was carried out under established cross‑border security protocols, highlighting the growing collaboration between Sierra Leone and Liberia in tackling transnational crime.
At the handover ceremony, ACP Joe Kamanda Bongay, Regional Police Commander East, welcomed the Liberian delegation on behalf of the Inspector General of Police. He reaffirmed the SLP’s commitment to strengthening regional security ties.
Superintendent Cary G. Karzon, Team Leader of the Liberia National Police’s National Central Bureau (NCB) in Monrovia, praised Sierra Leone’s swift action and professionalism. He noted that the successful transfer underscored the strong partnership between the two nations’ law enforcement agencies in safeguarding justice and stability across borders.
