Freetown, 10th July 2026- The Chairman of one of Sierra Leone’s most decorated football club, Mighty Blackpool, has announced his resignation after five years at the helm, marking the end of a chapter in the club’s leadership.

In a statement following an emergency Executive Committee meeting held at his residence, the outgoing Chairman described his tenure since September 2021 as “an honour to lead the greatest club in the history of Sierra Leone.” He expressed deep gratitude to the elders, fans, former players, executive members, technical staff and players for their unwavering support and respect throughout his leadership.

“Every good thing must come to an end,” he said, confirming that the Exco members present had accepted his resignation, albeit with reservations, on behalf of the elders and fans.

Despite stepping down, the former Chairman pledged continued support for the Tiss Tass Boys, vowing to remain a loyal supporter of Mighty Blackpool in diverse ways. “My heart will always be with the Tiss Tass Boys and Mighty Blackpool,” he affirmed.

The resignation signals a transition for the club, which has long been a powerhouse in Sierra Leonean football, and comes at a time when fans and stakeholders are eager to see the next phase of leadership for the historic team.
