Freetown, 22nd June, 2026 — The All People’s Congress (APC) today 22nd June 2026 lay to rest its late National Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, following a series of solemn funeral activities that will attract party members, supporters, and dignitaries from across Sierra Leone.
Mansaray, who passed away on June 15 in Dakar, Senegal, was received back home on June 19 at Lungi International Airport by family members, APC leadership, and well‑wishers. His remains were later conveyed to Freetown via Port Loko, accompanied by supporters and sympathizers.
On June 21, the APC leadership paid an official condolence visit to the bereaved family, followed by a Party Laying‑Out Ceremony at the APC National Secretariat.
The final day of tributes will happen today beginning with a Lying‑in‑State at the House of Parliament and a Civic Laying‑Out Ceremony at Freetown City Council. Later in the afternoon, Janaza prayers were offered at Hamdallah Mosque on Naimbana Street before Mansaray will be laid to rest at Kingtom Cemetery.
Following the burial, a repast will be held at Freetown City Council for the public, while party members will gather at the APC Secretariat.
In a statement, APC National Secretary General Lansana Dumbuya, Esq., expressed gratitude to all who extended condolences and support during the mourning period. “May Allah forgive his shortcomings, shower His mercy upon him, and grant him Jannatul Firdaus,” the party noted.
