Vienna, Austria, 8th April, 2026 – Sierra Leone’s President, Julius Maada Bio, has arrived in Vienna to attend the International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum (IVECF), where he is expected to deliver a keynote address on Mission 300, a bold initiative aimed at expanding energy access across Africa.
The two-day forum, running from April 9–10, brings together global policymakers, innovators, experts, and young leaders committed to advancing sustainable development and climate action. President Bio’s intervention is anticipated to shape discussions on green industrialisation and climate‑resilient energy solutions, highlighting their role in achieving a just transition, fostering stability, and promoting shared prosperity in Least Developed and Landlocked Developing Countries.
During his stay, the Sierra Leonean leader will also hold several high‑level meetings on the margins of the summit, engaging with international partners on energy and climate priorities.
The IVECF is widely regarded as a premier global platform for dialogue on sustainable energy and climate resilience. President Bio’s participation underscores his growing role as an international advocate for Africa’s energy transformation. His message is expected to call for meaningful investment and genuine partnerships, reflecting his conviction that Africa’s immense potential can be unlocked through collaboration and innovation.
As he takes the stage in Vienna, President Bio is set to position Sierra Leone and Africa more broadly at the heart of global conversations on energy justice, climate resilience, and inclusive development.
