Freetown, 5th February 2026- The Head of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), ACP Allieu Jalloh, has confirmed that police are investigating a disturbing blackmail scheme involving one Ayoub Sesay. Sesay is alleged to lure women, drug them, and secretly record nude videos and photographs, which he then uses to extort money from victims and their families.

ACP Jalloh revealed that investigations suggest this was Sesay’s usual method of operation. Described as computer-literate, Sesay allegedly exploited his skills to gain access to women online, convincing them to become his girlfriends before trapping them in his scheme.

One of the cases currently under investigation involves a woman named Susan Koroma from Kenema. According to police, Sesay persuaded Susan to travel to Freetown to meet him. Once there, he allegedly took her to Alpha Bar, where he drugged her until she became unconscious.

Police suspect that Sesay may have sexually abused Susan before taking nude photos and videos of her. When Susan later discovered the existence of these images, she fled. Sesay then allegedly began demanding large sums of money from her family, using the explicit material as leverage.

The CID Cyber Unit tracked and arrested Sesay, uncovering that he was already on two police watch lists with existing cases and inquiry files against him. ACP Jalloh confirmed that Sesay has been remanded in custody while investigations continue.

The incident, which occurred in September 2025, has convinced police that Sesay has been carrying out these alleged activities for a long time. Authorities are awaiting the final investigation report to determine whether sexual abuse charges will also be filed in Susan’s case.

ACP Jalloh stressed that the matter has been taken to court and that further charges may follow once ongoing investigations are complete. The case highlights the growing role of cybercrime in Sierra Leone and the importance of vigilance in protecting vulnerable individuals from exploitation.
