Abuja, Nigeria, 5th December 2025– Dr. Sidie Mohamed Tunis has been honoured with a prestigious award during the 25th Anniversary Commemoration of the ECOWAS Parliament, held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre.
The award recognizes his outstanding contributions to parliamentary representation, regional integration, and people‑centered governance within the ECOWAS Community. Over the years, Dr. Tunis has played a pivotal role in advancing dialogue and collaboration among member states, reinforcing the Parliament’s mission to promote peace, stability, and sustainable development across West Africa.
“This recognition is a testament to the collective efforts of all who believe in the power of regional cooperation,” Dr. Tunis said in his acceptance remarks. “As we mark 25 years of ECOWAS Parliament, we must continue to strengthen partnerships and deliver on our shared vision for a united and prosperous region.”
The Silver Jubilee celebration drew distinguished leaders from across the continent, including former Heads of State, parliamentary speakers, and key policymakers. Their presence reaffirmed ECOWAS’s enduring commitment to regional integration and progress.
