Freetown, 2nd December, 2025 — The Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) has confirmed that the All People’s Congress (APC) has paid a fine of one hundred and twenty thousand Leones (NLe 120,000), settling a penalty imposed last month for a breach of the Political Parties Act.

The fine was issued on November 17, 2025, after APC’s Falaba District Chairman, Hon. Lahai Marrah, was found to have contravened Section 39(1)(d) of the Political Parties Act (No. 25 of 2022) during party activities on November 15, 2025.

In a statement, the Commission acknowledged the payment and commended the APC for complying with the sanction. Officials noted that the move demonstrates the party’s willingness to operate within the framework of the law.

“We appreciate the APC’s compliance and urge all political parties to ensure their members, supporters, and operatives conduct themselves responsibly and within the confines of the law,” the Commission stated.

The PPRC emphasized that adherence to regulations is critical in strengthening Sierra Leone’s democratic process and maintaining accountability among political actors.
