Freetown, 28th October 2025- Sierra Leone is set to host its first-ever National Manufacturers’ Roundtable and Made in Sierra Leone Exhibition, a landmark event aimed at revitalizing the country’s manufacturing sector and driving inclusive economic growth.

The two-day conference, scheduled for October 29–30 at the Freetown International Conference Centre in Aberdeen, will convene under the theme: “Diversifying Sierra Leone’s Economy through Manufacturing- A Renewed Commitment to Inclusivity, Sustainability and Green Growth.”

Organized by the Ministry of Trade and Industry in partnership with the Sierra Leone Manufacturers Association (SLMA), the event will bring together key stakeholders, including manufacturers, policymakers, financial institutions, development partners, investors, and academics. The goal: to chart a bold new course for local production, import substitution, and regional trade competitiveness under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

“This conference is not just about celebrating what we produce,” said Minister of Trade and Industry, Hon. Alpha Ibrahim Sesay. “It’s about setting a national agenda for industrial growth. Our goal is to strengthen local industries, create jobs, and position Sierra Leone as a manufacturing hub in West Africa.”

The roundtable discussions will focus on practical strategies to boost domestic manufacturing, improve access to finance, and promote sustainable industrial practices. In parallel, the Made in Sierra Leone Exhibition will showcase a wide array of locally produced goods, from agro-processing and textiles to construction materials and green innovations, highlighting the creativity and resilience of Sierra Leone’s industrial sector.

Held under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, the event signals a renewed government commitment to economic diversification and industrial transformation.

The Ministry has extended an open invitation to manufacturers of all sizes, as well as the general public, to attend the exhibition and support the Made in Sierra Leone initiative. Organizers say the event will not only spotlight local talent and innovation but also foster new partnerships and investment opportunities across the sector.
