Freetown, Sierra Leone, 27th October 2025- Orange Sierra Leone has expanded its digital and social impact footprint, reaching thousands of young people and rural communities through its 2024 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
The company’s Orange Digital Center (ODC) trained over 14,500 youth in digital literacy, coding, entrepreneurship, and tech-based skills. Notably, 47% of trainees were women, and 38% of participants secured jobs or launched income-generating ventures, underscoring the centre’s role in boosting employability and gender inclusion.

“Digital empowerment is not a luxury, it’s a necessity,” said CEO Sekou Amadou Bah. “Our goal is to ensure that every young Sierra Leonean has the tools to thrive in a connected world.”
Orange also expanded 4G broadband coverage to 95% of the population, enabling access to online services, education, and business tools nationwide. In a push for sustainability, 70% of its network sites are now solar-powered, reducing carbon emissions and enhancing energy resilience.
The company’s environmental efforts included planting 10,000 trees in Kawase Hill, Moyamba District, aimed at restoring degraded land and supporting climate resilience.
Through its foundation, Orange impacted 14,627 beneficiaries with programmes focused on education, health, women’s empowerment, and community development.
With its CSR strategy rooted in care, boldness, and responsibility, Orange Sierra Leone continues to position itself as a catalyst for digital transformation and inclusive growth.
