Freetown, 21st November, 2025 — Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, setting out a shared commitment to advance regional digital integration.
The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration between the two countries on digital public infrastructure, innovation, youth skills development, and cross‑border digital trade. Officials said the initiative is designed to ensure that systems in both nations can connect seamlessly, supporting the creation of a more integrated West African digital economy.
The MoU reflects a growing recognition of the role digital cooperation plays in economic growth and regional competitiveness. By aligning strategies and building interoperable systems, Sierra Leone and Nigeria aim to strengthen opportunities for trade, innovation, and youth employment across borders.
