Freetown, September 22nd 2025 — The Office of the President has formally intervened in the ongoing dispute within the Ministry of Works and Public Assets, directing that all officers involved remain in post and continue their professional duties pending a full administrative review.

In a letter addressed to the Honourable Minister of Works, Dr. Denis Sandy, Presidential Secretary Barba B. Fortune acknowledged receipt of correspondence initiated by the Minister concerning internal tensions, as well as audio recordings involving the Chief Director of Public Works.

“This matter is now in the public view and has been brought to the high attention of His Excellency the President,” the letter stated. It further advised that all actions relating to the dispute be suspended until the Presidency provides a resolution.

The directive comes amid mounting pressure on Minister Sandy, who faces allegations of corruption and unprofessional conduct from technical staff within the Ministry. The President’s intervention signals a move to de-escalate tensions and ensure procedural fairness as investigations unfold.

All concerned parties have been requested to comply with the directive and maintain normal operations.
