Kenema, 10th January 2026- Police in Kenema have arrested two residents during an anti-drug raid as part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on drug trafficking and abuse in the district.
The operation, carried out on January 8, 2025, led to the arrest of Christopher Barjie, a resident of No. 33 Black Street, Kondebotihun Layout, who was found in possession of seven cards of Tramadol (250mg). Police also apprehended Yenkay Sesay, from the same address, after discovering quantities of cannabis sativa seeds and tobacco in her possession.
Both suspects were taken into custody and handed over to the Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU) for further investigation.
The arrests were made under the leadership of CSP Emmanuel Kpulun, Local Unit Commander, and Inspector Mohamed S. Conteh, Operations Officer of the Kenema Police Division.
Authorities say the raid underscores their commitment to tackling drug-related crimes and maintaining public safety in Kenema.
