Freetown, 22nd October, 2025 In a decisive early morning operation, the Sierra Leone Police on Wednesday arrested four individuals and seized quantities of suspected Kush during a targeted raid at Gravel Ground, Lower Sunday Street, Calabatown.

The joint operation, led by Superintendent John S. Koroma and involving officers from the Regional and Kissy Operations Teams, was based on actionable intelligence indicating that the location had become a hotspot for drug trafficking and abuse.

According to the Sierra Leone Police Media Team, several makeshift structures believed to be used as drug dens were demolished during the raid. The arrested suspects are currently assisting investigators in tracing the source of the narcotics and uncovering links to a wider distribution network.

Police say the operation is part of a sustained crackdown on illegal drug activity across the Freetown-East region, under the directive of the Regional Commander. Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to dismantling drug hubs and restoring safety in affected communities.

The Sierra Leone Police Media Team confirmed that further operations are expected as investigations continue.
