Freetown, 12th January 2025- Orange Sierra Leone has formally introduced its new Chief Executive Officer, Madam Aicha Touré, during a courtesy visit to the Minister of Communication, Technology and Innovation. The introduction follows the conclusion of the tenure of former CEO, Mr. Sekou Amadou Bah.

The meeting provided an opportunity for Orange Sierra Leone to reaffirm its role in the country’s telecommunications sector and to strengthen collaboration with government on expanding digital access and improving the regulatory environment that supports sector growth.

Madam Touré brings more than a decade of leadership experience within the Orange Group, spanning telecommunications, technology, and financial services. She previously served as CEO of Orange Money Mali, where she spearheaded the expansion of digital financial services and advanced financial inclusion. Before that, she was Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer at Orange Mali, playing a pivotal role in the rollout of 4G and the expansion of fibre infrastructure.

Welcoming her to Sierra Leone, the Minister commended Orange Sierra Leone’s ongoing contribution to national connectivity and digital development. He emphasized the importance of continued partnership between government and industry in driving innovation and access.

The visit also acknowledged the achievements of outgoing CEO Mr. Bah, who oversaw significant expansion of Orange Sierra Leone’s network and digital services. Madam Touré’s appointment signals continuity, with the company expected to build on this foundation while pursuing new opportunities for growth and collaboration.
