Freetown, 24th November 2025- The Ministry of Information and Civic Education has announced plans to host Sierra Leone’s biggest civic festival from 11th to 13th December 2025, bringing together all government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to showcase their developments and initiatives to the public.
Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, revealed that the three-day festival will feature a wide array of activities, including panel discussions, cultural and art exhibitions, film screenings, quiz and debate competitions, and the much-anticipated Civic Concert.
The event will also welcome international guest speakers and highlight contributions from local civic champions, providing citizens with a platform to engage directly with government and civic leaders.
Minister Bah emphasized the collaboration between the Ministry and entertainment ambassador Kao Denero, ensuring that the Civic Concert and Kao Denero’s show on 13th December will be memorable highlights of the festival.
Addressing recent allegations surrounding the discovery of cocaine in a container from Sierra Leone in Nigeria, Minister Bah clarified that a thorough investigation by the Sierra Leone Port and Harbour Authority revealed the container left Sierra Leone empty, as confirmed by records from Grimaldi Lines, the shipping company responsible for its transport. The container reportedly arrived in Nigeria eight days before authorities there announced the seizure of substances alleged to be cocaine.
Minister Bah reassured the public that the government of Sierra Leone remains committed to combating illegal drugs, underlining the importance of transparency and accountability in trade and security operations.
With the upcoming festival, citizens can look forward to an engaging, informative, and entertaining platform that celebrates civic participation, government achievements, and national unity.
