Freetown, 19th November 2025-  The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a disabled man in a routine operation that saw several others arrested for drug-related offences. Munda, who sits on a wheelchair, was arrested at Bus Station, Wilberforce Street with some quantities of the synthetic drug, kush.

NDLEA also announced that Yusuf Kamara who was caught with large quantities of the same substance at Levuma Beach is now under investigation. Kamara was previously admitted at the Emergency Hospital after he reportedly broke his foot following a jump over a fence while trying to escape arrest. Kamara contends that the substances he was caught with are ordinary leaves, NDLEA said.

At the Hastings residence of Jimmy, a Police officer attached to the Operational Support Division (OSD) of the Sierra Leone Police, quantities of Tramadol and Marijuana were allegedly found along with a locally made pistol.

Executive Director of NDLEA, Andrew Jaiah Kaikai, who doubles as the Head of Special Security Unit, says all kinds of human beings are involved in the trade which he says underscores the need for collective effort in getting rid of what he describes as a menace.
