Freetown, 10th November 2025– Eddie John Browne has quite literally bent over backwards to make history. The Sierra Leonean contortionist, widely known by his stage name “Eddie Flexible,” has earned a coveted spot in the Guinness World Records 2026 for a feat that defies both gravity and expectation. On February 10, Eddie equalled the world record for the most full-body revolutions in a chest stand position in one minute (male), completing an astonishing 38 rotations.
His journey to the record books began not in a studio or gym, but in his childhood bedroom in Sierra Leone. In a caption accompanying a video on Instagram, Eddie reflected on his beginnings:
“At seven years old, in my room in Sierra Leone, I discovered what my body could do. As a self-taught, imagine waking up one day, and movement calls you, not as a task, but as a language. You follow it… you trust it. And it begins to remember you too.”
He continued, “Back then, I didn’t know it would be called contortion, or that one day it would echo across the world. From being flexible to becoming legendary.”
Eddie’s rise from local performer to international sensation has taken him from the streets of Freetown to the stages of Cirque du Soleil, and now, into the pages of global record history. But for him, the achievement is about more than numbers.
“Movement is freedom. It has to be respected. It’s our way to remember,” he wrote in another post. “This is bigger than just a certificate. This is a message from the body, that even in silence, we can bend history. From Sierra Leone to Cirque du Soleil to the Guinness World Records. I didn’t just spin. I spoke. I didn’t just break records. I broke limits.”
Eddie Flexible’s story is one of passion, perseverance, and poetic motion, a reminder that even the most unconventional talents can leave a mark on the world stage.
