Freetown, 26th March 2026- The Minister of Finance, Sheku Ahmed Fantamadi Bangura, has visited the Freetown International Airport, Lungi, to witness the arrival of construction materials for the ambitious Congress Centre, Hotel, and Presidential Villas project.
The Minister later toured the construction site, where he held a meeting with FB Group, the firm spearheading the development. Management assured him that work is progressing at full speed to ensure the facilities are completed in time for Sierra Leone to host the ECOWAS Heads of State meeting later this year.
The project, initiated by President Julius Maada Bio, is designed to boost infrastructure at Lungi and position Sierra Leone as a prime destination for international conferences and tourism.
Minister Bangura commended FB Group for their dedication and pledged continued government support. He emphasized that President Bio remains committed to reducing Sierra Leone’s infrastructure deficit and attracting both tourists and investors through strategic development projects.
The Congress Centre, Hotel, and Presidential Villas are expected to transform Lungi into a hub for high-level international engagements, while also enhancing the country’s appeal to global visitors.
