Freetown,7th January 2026 The British High Commission in Freetown has extended warm congratulations to Liam Rosenior following his appointment as Head Coach of Chelsea Football Club, highlighting the strong cultural and sporting ties between the United Kingdom and Sierra Leone.

Rosenior’s family shares a proud connection with Sierra Leonean football. His father, Leroy Rosenior, represented Sierra Leone in a 1994 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on January 9, 1993, and later served as Head Coach during the 2007 AFCON qualifying campaign. His contribution remains a significant part of the nation’s football history.
