Freetown, September 7, 2025- As teachers across Sierra Leone prepare to down tools on Monday, a 2025 report by the Centre for Accountability and Rule of Law (CARL-SL) appears to have predicted the crisis now gripping the country’s education sector.

Freetown, September 7, 2025 — The Sierra Leone Teaching Service Commission (TSC) has reinstated 1,802 teachers to the government payroll following a nationwide verification exercise that initially saw 4,662 educators suspended in July for failing to appear in classroom audits or during extended registration periods. 

As part of its commitment to delivering a credible and inclusive 2026 Population and Housing Census, Statistics Sierra Leone (Stats SL), convened a two-day high-level engagement with members of the Advisory and Technical Committees at the New Brookfields Hotel in Freetown.

Freetown, September 5th 2025:  To augment effective collaboration with inter-governmental MDAs, the National Petroleum Regulatory Authority ( NPRA) has in a landmark partnership and strategic collaboration ceremony, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sierra Leone Standards Bureau ( SLSB) at the Authority’s headquarters at Tower Hill, British Council Building.
