Freetown, 30th March, 2026 – The All People’s Congress (APC) has announced that rerun ward elections will be conducted on Saturday, April 4, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen internal democracy and credibility within the party.
In a public notice issued by the National Secretariat, the party confirmed that the specific wards and polling locations for the rerun will be republished on Thursday, April 2, 2026. The Secretariat emphasized that all aspirants, officials, and members must adhere strictly to the APC Constitution (2022), electoral guidelines, and regulations governing internal elections.
The party pledged that the rerun process will be conducted in a free, fair, transparent, and credible manner, under the supervision of established party structures.
The notice also formally informed the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) and the Sierra Leone Police (SLP), requesting their support to ensure a peaceful and orderly process.
“This rerun is about reinforcing trust and accountability within our party. We call on all members and stakeholders to cooperate fully,” the Secretariat stated.
The announcement comes amid heightened interest in the APC’s internal elections, with party officials stressing that the rerun will serve as a test of discipline and unity ahead of broader political contests.
