Freetown, 6th January 2026- The Anti‑Corruption Commission (ACC) has confirmed two major investigations involving staff of key government institutions, raising fresh concerns about integrity in public service.

According to the ACC, three staff members of the National Revenue Authority (NRA) attached to the ASYCUDA department are currently in custody over allegations of siphoning funds amounting to NLe300 million. The probe centres on suspected financial irregularities linked to the customs management system.

In a separate case, the Commission is investigating allegations that diplomatic and service passports were sold to undeserving individuals at the Immigration Office. Officials say certain persons of interest have already been reporting to the ACC as part of the inquiry.

Director of Public Education and Outreach, Abubakarr Turay, confirmed the investigations to Truth Media, noting that both cases remain active as the Commission pursues accountability.

The developments underscore the ACC’s intensified focus on tackling corruption across government institutions, with outcomes expected to shape public confidence in Sierra Leone’s governance and transparency efforts.
